CALL FOR PAPERS

ULTRAPURE WATER® journal seeks abstracts for technical papers for ULTRAPURE WATER China.  The conference will have two one-day sessions.  One will emphasize water treatment issues relevant to the Power Generation industry, while the second will focus on topics important to Microelectronics and Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
While priority will be given to papers that emphasize state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies, consideration will also be given to papers that focus on case studies from a problem-solving approach or lessons learned.  Papers may incorporate issues related to the use of these technologies or treatment areas:  Ion Exchange, Reverse Osmosis, Electrodeionization, Ultrafiltration, Microfiltration, Point of Use, Instruments/Monitoring, Organics Removal, Scale or Corrosion Control, Cooling Water, Process Water, Biological Control, Materials of Construction, and Zero Liquid Discharge, among others.  Papers and presentations should be of technical, educational, and non-commercial.  Enduser papers are encouraged.  The primary author of papers from suppliers must be authored by individuals whose major responsibility involves technical, research, or engineering, not marketing or sales.
Authors should be prepared to provide technical papers based on Power Point presentation.  At the conference, presentations will be translated into Chinese or English, depending on the speaker’s spoken language.  As such, authors will be expected to provide in a timely manner a version of the technical paper and presentation slides in both English and Chinese.  Plans are for the presentation slides to be projected in both English and Chinese.
If translation help is needed, the conference organizers can help direct authors to such services, which would likely involve a translation fee.
Authors of papers that are accepted will receive communication from the conference organizers that specifies material deadlines.  Failure to comply with published deadlines could result in a paper being taken off the agenda.
All authors who would travel to China must be prepared to go through the process to apply for a visa enough in advance of the meeting.  Authors of accepted papers will receive those instructions.
Abstracts should include the following:  1.  the names of all authors, their job titles, and affiliations; 2.  author(s) contact information, including address, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail address; and 3.  a short 1 to 3 paragraph description that describes the proposed presentation and paper.

The conference will have two concurrent sessions-- technical papers and In-depth Discussions which will be conducted only in Chinese.  Abstracts are only for the technical papers program.  In-depth Discussions are being organized separately by the conference organizers and are not subject to a "call for papers".  Firms or individuals interested in teaching these discussions should contact the conference organizers.

Abstracts should be e-mailed or faxed to:
Mike Henley at mike@ultrapurewater.com
 or faxed: 303/745-3890
Deadline:  May 1, 2008
