Abstract

The jury is outラwill the heavy spending promoted by the Obama administration help or eventually hurt the economy? While politicians and economists debate the question, the likelihood is the water business will realize some help from the $7.4 billion allocated in the recent economic stimulus package. Still, the planned spending on water infrastructure is under 1% of the overall stimulus package. The current state of the water business in light of the current deep recession, and infrastructure spending were among the topics discussed at the 2009 WATER EXECUTIVE Forum, which was held here March 30-31 at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in downtown.
